Weekend Tournament

Recently I had a tournament over the weekend that didn't go quite as planned. You see, last year in little league, we were undefeated so, in the tournament we thought we were going to beat every team but that was not the case. We played four games, two on Saturday and two on Sunday. We lost all four of our games and our team was not happy at all. My opinion is that we didn't have our heads in the game and sometimes I didn't always agree with some of our coaches decisions. But we all had fun and we hit well on Sunday. Now, onto how I did. The first two games I struck out swinging. The third and fourth game I did a lot better in the third game. I hit a single and got to pitch. I pitched pretty good for my first start this season. I was later taken out and moved to second base. In the fourth game I started out at third and moved to second then before I was up to bat I was trying to pick out what bat to use. I finally chose one out of the many bats. Then I was up to bat, the first pitch was delivered and I swung but missed it. I now had one strike on me, the next pitch was delivered, I swung at it and drove a line drive right to center and I later scored but we still lost the game. Even though we lost, we still had fun and that's what matters the most, having fun!

Cheating, Is It Okay?

There's all types of cheating in sports from corked bats, to steroids, and even Nascar car modifications. But the question really is, are these methods okay? But let's stop and take a look at people who have been accused of cheating, shall we? For example Barry Bonds has been accused of cheating many times yet he still gets credit for breaking all these records. Do you think he takes steroids? Personally I do think he uses steroids but before he made this choice he had still achieved great things as a player.

Jimmy Johnson, one of the best racers of all times, however, he may not be the Nascar hero you think he is. This is because of car modifications that he and his team have made. I don't know if he really did this or not but from what I've heard is that he is guilty of this form of cheating in Nascar. Some people feel that if one team's car is modified then everyone's car should be able to modify their car as well. To me this does sound fair.

So, I've looked at just two quick examples of cheating but have shown that a person can have differing views on what is cheating and what is not depending on the sport. In the end it comes down to making it fair for everyone playing the sport.

Friends

Friends are the best thing you can have in life besides family. But just like family, friends can also be annoying.

Once when I was playing with my friend, Justin we were at the park when we saw some other kids. Justin then asked them if they wanted to play with us. He said he was going to go get extra toy guns at his house. So, I sat there and waited with the other kids. Apparently while he went to get the toy guns at his house he ended up at the creek with another neighbor kid. As a result he ditched us...how annoying!

Another time we were playing football. There were four of us on each team and there was "that kid". You know the one that gets angry whenever someone accidently bumps into him but he’s constantly bumping into everyone else. Well, the QB dropped back as I was playing wide receiver. I went out for the pass, the ball was thrown to me, and "that kid" bumped into me as he tried to get the ball. Well, he didn’t just bump into me, he dug into me! His tooth went directly into my forehead. Ouch! The important thing was that I still caught the ball. Oh yeah, who’s good? Anyway, that was really annoying!

So, the important thing to remember about friends is that you need to forgive them when they make mistakes. Remember, we all make mistakes.
