Cheating, Is It Okay?
There's all types of cheating in sports from corked bats, to steroids, and even Nascar car modifications. But the question really is, are these methods okay? But let's stop and take a look at people who have been accused of cheating, shall we? For example Barry Bonds has been accused of cheating many times yet he still gets credit for breaking all these records. Do you think he takes steroids? Personally I do think he uses steroids but before he made this choice he had still achieved great things as a player.
Jimmy Johnson, one of the best racers of all times, however, he may not be the Nascar hero you think he is. This is because of car modifications that he and his team have made. I don't know if he really did this or not but from what I've heard is that he is guilty of this form of cheating in Nascar. Some people feel that if one team's car is modified then everyone's car should be able to modify their car as well. To me this does sound fair.
So, I've looked at just two quick examples of cheating but have shown that a person can have differing views on what is cheating and what is not depending on the sport. In the end it comes down to making it fair for everyone playing the sport.
